For this project, I initially studied the behaviors and patterns of ants and examined the properties of pine needles to see if they could inspire a design. While the pine needles didn’t lead to a meaningful outcome, I became fascinated by the intricate chambers ants create underground. Wanting to respect nature’s boundaries, I chose not to disturb them, but their patterns inspired me to craft a ceramic piece echoing their nests.
